Helen Nebeker is a born and raised Texan and has been studying the piano for over 20 years. Helen’s career spans a wide range of musical accomplishments, including over 50 national and international competition awards, multiple solo concerts, and extensive work as a collaborative musician and orchestral keyboardist. Her academic accolades include a Master of Music in Classical Piano at the Manhattan School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Helen’s teachers include: Julia Amada Kruger, Kenneth Thompson, Dr. Daniel Shapiro, and Alexandre Moutouzkine.

Among her career highlights include: concerto performances with the University of the Incarnate Word Orchestra and San Antonio Symphony, placing alternate at the 2022 Eisenberg-Fried Concerto Competition at MSM, receiving the 2019 Young Artist Piano Trio Fellowship at the Rocky Ridge Music Center (Young Artist Seminar), and many outreach concerts with local music programs in the Austin, Cleveland, and NYC area. Helen received the 2020-2021 Hagner Family Scholarship as part of her studies at MSM, and earned academic honors with both of her degrees.

Outside of music, Helen’s hobbies include reading science fiction, playing video games, and listening to comedy podcasts. She hopes to be a part of the generation that brings forth positive changes and expose the public to music by composers of underrepresented groups.
